First Fridays for Spring, 2011
January 19, 2011
Participants in the CTL Needs Assessment, conducted last spring, were clear about the number one reason faculty are unable to participate in CTL activities:
- “Too busy!”
- “I’m overwhelmed!”
- “Extremely huge workload!”
- “There is no time, and now there is even less time!”
I’m listening! This semester, First Friday lunchtime conversations will focus around the theme of saving time – in grading, in teaching larger classes, and in using instructional technology.
If you haven’t attended previously, First Fridays take place at 12:45-1:45 (note slightly later time so that Humanities 414 faculty can attend) on the first Friday of each month. (However, note that in March, First Friday will actually be held on First Thursday, 12:30-1:30, in order to keep the day before Spring Break clear.) We’ll offer beverages and snacks; feel free to bring a lunch.
Please join us! Maybe the hour spent will save you two.
