Programs and Services
Faculty development programs at the CTL focus on the individual faculty member as a teacher, a scholar, and a person. Workshops and presentations (e.g., First/Second Fridays) are designed to assist faculty in one or more of these roles, from introducing new ideas about teaching strategies or classroom management to sharing tips for mentoring undergraduate research students or finding time to pursue one’s own scholarship. Learning Circles bring faculty and staff together for multiple sessions to discuss a topic or book of mutual interest. The Third Thursday series focuses on the needs of new faculty members, addressing issues that are of special interest early in one’s academic career. Finally, consultation is available to faculty members interested in individualized advice on any aspect of their teaching experience.
And a new opportunity: Interested in funding for an on-campus faculty development experience of your own design? Apply to the CTL for an award by November 30, 2011. See the information and application here.
