Third Thursdays

Third Thursdays are informal monthly sessions for new faculty providing continued orientation opportunities and the chance to connect with other first-year colleagues.  Intended to complement the experiences of participants in the New Faculty Mentoring program, meetings will involve short presentations about UNC Asheville programs and provide an opportunity for new professors to discuss their experiences and challenges in the classroom.  Lunch provided!

Fall, 2011, dates: Thursdays, 12:20-1:30 p.m. (open period), at the cafeteria.

• September 15: Student-faculty issues, Part 2 (Pat McClellan, Assistant Provost for Academic Administration)

• October 20: Undergraduate research and service learning opportunities (Mark Harvey, Director of Undergraduate Research & Associate Professor of Psychology, and Joseph Berryhill, Director of Key Center & Associate Professor of Psychology)

• November 17: Classroom issues; meeting the alumni team (Kevan Frazier, Director of Alumni Relations and University Events)
